I was so impressed with the towers, I bought the Sierra 2EX also, and was not disappointed. The towers are better in instrument separation and clarity, but the 2EX are maybe ~80% as good for ~50% of the price, which IMO is an amazing deal considering the Sierra RAAL Towers absolutely blow away most speakers costing 2x+ as much. Look at some of the offering from Ascend Acoustics and Philharmonic Audio, particularly those that use a RAAL ribbon. I would get the SIERRA-2EX from Ascend or the BMR Philharmonitor from Philharmonic. Purely my own opinion, but you have to spend quite a bit of money to get something better than these. Jul 27, 2020 · I'm also looking at the Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2-EX and Sierra Luna. on their page it looks like there is a threaded insert on the bottom of the 2-EX speaker which makes me wonder if it works with a hanging bracket sort of like the Deftechs do. If so, that might be another option. The luna has a key slot on it for hanging. The Sierra 2EX is a great substitute though : ) I chose the 2EX because, in a vertical position, it will sound better than the Sierra Duo (according to one of Dave's post on the Ascend forum).
